Open Water Scuba diver Course
Whether you plan on diving the reefs of the Caribbean or the oyster beds of the Chesapeake the Open Water Scuba Diver course is designed to get you under the water and exploring with confidence. Our team of seasoned professionals are here to help you get closer to the amazing underwater world that we have all fallen in love with!
START DIVING THE WORLD IN 3 EASY STEPS
Academic - Start your SDI (Scuba Diving International) Open Water Scuba Diver course and master important academic information online. You can complete this phase through self-study, at your own pace, in the convenience of your home or office. After you've completed the online component we will also have in-person reviews to make sure we can answer any questions you may have as well as give you some helpful tips and tricks that you won't find in any book, things we've learned through our own experiences diving all around the world!
Confined water training - The next step will be to complete your in-water skill-development training. This may sound intimidating but trust me it’s lots of fun! This portion of the course takes place in the HCC swimming pool under the supervision of an SDI Instructor and assisting professionals. We will be working on skills that you will need to know in order to enjoy your time underwater safely and with confidence, things like... assembling and disassembling equipment, clearing water out of a flooded mask, emergency drills and much more!
Open water training -The final step is to complete 4 dives at a local Scuba training quarry. Here you will apply what you have learned during your academic and confined water sessions, while learning practical lessons that can only be gained through real-world experience in open water. Some people think of this part as a test... I've always just seen it as an opportunity to get out and dive!
(ask us about finishing your class in the Florida Keys!)
Upon successful completion of all all three portions of the course you will be issued an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification, opening up an entire new world to you for exploration and discovery!
